School Ministry

The TETEM School Ministry is a broader aim evangelical ministry basically powered and pioneered by The Rescue Mission for Soul Winning (REMSOW), basically established to enhance the gospel of Christ to persons in high schools, colleges and Universities Schools level with the aim of leading and reconciling pupils and students and individuals to God through God’s salvation in Christ.

In Acts 17: 11-23 we are provided a biblical foundation where Paul preached in synagogues, market, Areopagus School (called Mars Hill). It should be noted here that Philosophers of Epicureans and the Stoics schools were also preached to in Acts 17: 34. Some of those who believed and were converted to Christ were Dionysius the Areopagite and Damaris. This is what the school ministry aims to achieve in its operation.

Understanding the Rescue Mission for Soul Winning (REMSOW):

The Rescue Mission in Schools for Soul Winning (REMSOW) is a proactive initiative and Sub-set of TETEM School Ministry aimed at reaching out to students in educational institutions with the message of salvation, hope, and redemption through Jesus Christ. This mission acknowledges the challenges and pressures students face, including academic stress, peer influence, and moral dilemmas, which can lead them astray from spiritual values and ethics.

Mission Statement

Becoming a Member (Membership)

Joining the REMSOW, we would consider these attributes that would constantly and effectively aid in building the team which is also attributed to the members of the team. 

1. A Genuine Believer: REMSOW is constituted by believers of likeminded. Keeping the same faith and obeying the will of God. Anyone interested in joining the team must follow (Align with the Set Goals or Objective).
2. Ability to communicate frequently and effectively: This is crucial to us because we frequently keep each other updated, share information, provide context, and enlighten our understanding through studying and internalizing the word of God, communicating to others to strengthen the team. We also figured out the best channel for communication and when to have a meeting and how to leverage such an agenda.
3. Understand our roles and responsibilities: Each one of us know how to contribute to these goals and understands how to fit together by leveraging each other’s strengths to achieving our set goals.
4. Collaboration: We truly believe in teamwork (power genius), leveraging on each other’s strengths, and partner effectively, in aspiring for greatness. We provide each other with constructive feedback with the intention of helping each other exhibit/demonstrate and deliver the best and we are successful together.
5. Accountability: In order to join this great team REMSOW, you must be able to be accountable to certain responsibilities that may be generated by the team. We don’t blame one another for team mistakes and failures. We maximize time to achieve maximum result and celebrate success together.
6. Trust: REMSOW is known and characterized by high mutual trust. We believe in another’s integrity, character, and ability as believers. As suit, trust is strongly demanding from anyone joining the team.
7. Commitment: Becoming part of this great team would require intense loyalty to the team. We are always willing and ready to yield to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to getting anything done, so as to aid the success of the team.

As a member of REMSOW what is expected of you:

These are the dos and don’ts of the Urgent Rescue Mission in School for Soul Winning:

1. Forgive others: The body of Christ is different from the world for the most part. We don’t hold grudges, we hold hands. 4:32
2. Always pray for others: As a team we pray for one another consistently as the word of God as instructed us. 4:6
3. Love One Another: Jesus didn’t hope that we would, didn’t suggest that we would but commanded that we would love one another. John 13:34
4. No alcohol: Why? We don’t want the effects of alcohol or drugs to influence us to make poor decisions and destroy our spiritual life (Lev. 10:9; Isa. 5:11; Luke 1:15)
5. NO Pornography: We believe it’s incredibly belittling and soul destroying to all who treat them as objects, and pornography tempts the viewer to commit sin against God.
6. Can’t engage in same-Sex Relationship: We are taught that marriage is ordained between a man and a woman. We do believe the Bible’s teachings that romantic relationships are ordained by God to be between man and woman who are legally married (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:5; Mark 10:7-8).
7. No Smoking: We believe life is a gift from God and we do our best to keep our bodies healthy and clean.
8. No Abortion: RMET strongly opposes abortion and does not participate in abortion in any way. The Ten Commandments said, “you shall not kill” Ex. 20:13
9. Don’t Gamble: We do not support gambling because it can negatively affect your financial situation, relationships, and other aspects of your life.

Surround yourself with other Believers: The idea that “we become like the people we hang around with” is actually quite true. 1 Cor. 15:33 puts it like this: “Evil Company corrupts good habits.” Whether we associate with “good people” or “bad people,” we eventually begin to act, think and even talk like whoever we are around. That’s why it’s vital that Christians spend time with fellow Christians- especially those who are mature in their faith.

Area of Focus and Reach Out

High School and Colleges:

One of the functions and area of focus of the (REMSOW) in this regard is to reach out to a vast audience of people in high schools and colleges, i.e. primary and secondary school institutions. The mission acknowledges the challenges and pressures students face, including academic stress and burdens, peer influence, and moral dilemmas, which can lead them astray from spiritual values and morals and thereby taking proactive measures and steps to ensure such dilemmas are resolved urgently.

Why the Urgency for this Operation

The urgency of this mission stems from:

1. Spiritual emptiness: Many students lack spiritual guidance, leading to a sense of purposelessness and disconnection.
2. Moral decay: Schools often witness a decline in moral values, making it essential to introduce students to Christ’s teachings.
3. Cultism and negative influences: Students are vulnerable to cults, substance abuse, and other negative influences that can endanger their lives.
